As part of his involvement in the work of the UN and the safeguarding of the Planet, Thomas EGLI has oriented, within the organizations he has created, certain actions in particular. On this page you will find a summary of the actions carried out with the aim of giving Nature its own rights and protecting it.

Objectif Sciences International

Objectif Sciences International, Special Consultative Status to the UN, proposes to achieve the resolution of the Sustainable Development Goals and concretize a successful quality education, through the implementation of participatory research actions. Participatory research is the most successful form of participatory science, both in terms of the research projects conducted and in terms of the format, which implements project-based learning and a strong involvement through real-life experience.

Following an important step initiated in 2013 by Thomas EGLI within the NGO Objectif Sciences International, this one now puts a special emphasis on the issue of the Rights of Nature, in close partnership with the Harmony with Nature Programme of the UN, on a permanent basis.

In each country where actions are carried out, it is in one or more of the following 7 axes, from the 8 axes defined by the Harmony with Nature Programme:

Geneva Forum at the UN

The Geneva Forum, held at the UN, organizes Annual International Conferences on the themes of key factors such as "Rights of Nature", "Sustainable Tourism and Responsible Travel", "Inclusive Education through Project Pedagogy", "Responsible Finance" or "Citizen Science and Participatory Research", in order to allow all the actors and operators of these fields to exchange, meet and share live at the widest international level. These meetings, held every year, allow actors and decision-makers to accelerate the realization of their proposals and ideas for a better future.

Following an important step initiated by Thomas EGLI during the Geneva Forum 2013, the Forum now puts a special emphasis on the issue of the Rights of Nature, in close partnership with the Harmony with Nature Programme of the UN, on a permanent basis.

Le voyage pose aujourd'hui un grave problème de pollution et de bilan carbone ; Pourtant c'est aujourd'hui également que le voyage est devenu vital à la survie de l'humanité. Seul le voyage permet aux hôtes comme aux visiteurs de se rendre compte que l'Autre n'est pas un ogre, ni un monstre, mais un être normal, que les grands-mères de ce pays étranger sont les mêmes grands-mères que celles de son pays. Il est urgent d'augmenter encore les voyages et les rencontres, et de tisser la Paix à travers le Monde.

Pourtant, la question de l'empreinte carbone des voyages ne peut pas être laissée de côté ; Elle est aussi un facteur clé de la survie de l'humanité.

Tous les voyages et déplacements listés sur ce site web ont été pensés de manière à générer un bilan écologique positif, en respectant les points suivants :

Résolution des Objectifs du Développement Durable

En dehors des loisirs personnels, qui se devraient d'être au moins en tout point éthique, non agressif (non polluant..) et régénérant pour celui ou celle qui le pratique, en revanche, devant l'urgence rencontrée, aucun projet professionnel, politique ou industriel ne devrait aujourd'hui se détourner de la résolution de au moins un, ou plusieurs, des Objectifs du Développement Durable.

Bio

Co-founder of the Geneva Foundation for the Future dedicated to align the worlds of finance and impact projects, Thomas EGLI is also the founder of a Foundation dedicated to Project Based Learning technology for Schools, and the NGO Objectif Sciences International (Special Consultative Status to United Nations, ECOSOC) which is leading Projects of learning by doing Education to Science and Citizen Sciences since 1992, in all continents.

He invented and created the 1st Participatory Research Clubs in 1992 and Participatory Research Camps in 2004.

Thomas is now the CEO of the GENEVA FORUM since 2001, organizing the International Annual Conferences around the world, at UNESCO and/or the UN from time to time on several key factors topics as "Rights of Nature", "Sustainable Tourism and Responsible Travel", "Inclusive Education by Project Based Learning", "Responsible Finance" or "Citizen Sciences and Participatory Research", in order to allow all the actors and operators in these domains to exchange, meet and share directly and at the largest international level. In this frame he organizes also several annual events at UNESCO (Paris), as the Conference on Participatory Science, governemental Scientifics Policies and achievment of the Sustainable Development Goals.

He is also expert for the Harmony with Nature Programme of United Nations on Holistic Science and Complex Systems, Education and Environment.

His first books were published in 2001.

The One Day Council

The One Day Council est un Think Tank qui présente plusieurs caractéristiques particulières ;

Réunions accessibles au public,
dont aucun échange n'est confidentiel,
qui réunit un acteur professionnel par métier,
dans le cadre d'une concertation entre professions, ayant lieu une fois par an, tous les ans,
à propos de ce que chacun a à faire de son côté pendant l'année, dans le cadre de son métier,
afin d'avancer vers la résolution d'un point de blocage qui n'évolue pas avec le temps (Le One Day Council sélectionne un sujet qui n'évolue pas malgré le passage des années).
